Update NowDo you tend to refuse a glass of Lambrusco with a «No, grazie!»? And do you remember with a shudder the headache of youthful over-indulgence in sweet and sticky cheap wines? What a shame! After all, Lambrusco can be so much better than this. At least, when it comes from the Villa di Corlo.
Maria Antonietta Munari Giacobazzi, who runs her well-kept 25-hectare winery with great passion, has salvaged the honour of Lambrusco. Her wines are the smooth opposite of the widespread prejudice: crisp, dry, strong, tannic and serious. Alongside the red sparkling wines, she also makes an impressive Bordeaux blend called Giaco. And exquisite Aceto balsamico tradizionale di Modena, which matures in the attic of the manor house.
