Our tips for a perfect wine and food pairing

The truth is that we normally drink wine with savoury dishes. But why not serve a fine wine with dessert too? We let you in on the keys to a successful wine pairing.

Savoury foods can be paired with a wide variety of wines. Certain vegetables (tomatoes, for example) require a bit more finesse, as their acidity can have a negative impact on even the finest of wines. Bitter and spicy foods can also be challenging. For the latter, the best choice is certainly a fresh white wine free from the all-too-common tannins.

«Decisions, decisions: the right wine pairing for your food requires knowledge and experience.»

But knowledge is worth nothing without experience. So here’s our tip: Try as many pairings as possible. It’s the only way to find out what works for you, which pairings go together, and which ones should definitely not be on the same table. And yes, sometimes a red wine goes well with a sweet dessert.
