Amarone has a younger brother – and he’s sweet!

Recioto is the speciality from Valpolicella, and just like the famous Amarone, it is pressed from dried Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara grapes. However, fermentation is halted at the halfway mark. This leaves behind at least 50 grams of residual sugar in the wine, and often up to 100 grams. So it’s no wonder Recioto is such a charmer! Psst, it goes great with Black Forest gateau …
