Update NowThe enchanting scent of mortella (wild myrtle) characterises the coastal area of Maremma and is the symbol of Fattoria Le Mortelle, which has been owned by the Antinori family of winegrowers since 1999. The eponymous Mediterranean shrub can be seen – and smelled – everywhere on the estate.
The 270-hectare estate is situated in a secluded location in the south of the province of Grosseto and is managed as a holistic ecological project. In addition to important ecological compensation areas that provide a habitat for flora and fauna, the estate also includes two pristine lakes and 15 hectares of organically cultivated orchards. The 170 hectares of vines are mainly planted with Cabernet franc and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as white varieties.
