Update NowThe Costanti, a patrician family from Siena, moved to Montalcino in the mid-16th century, where they managed a sizeable acreage of farmland and vineyards. In the 19th century, they were among the pioneers who made history by selling wine under the name Brunello.
Today, Andrea Costanti is the sixth generation of his family involved in winemaking. As a young man, he took over the running of this traditional winery in Tuscany. It now covers 25 hectares, ten of which are planted with vines. They grow in the best location at an altitude of 310 to 440 metres above sea level. The undisputed king of the mountains of Montalcino is, of course, the variety of Sangiovese known locally as Brunello. However, three hectares are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. As an aesthete with a keen awareness of tradition, Andrea Costanti places great emphasis on authenticity and elegance; his wines are exceptionally aromatic and expressive, imbued with the magic of their unique terroir.
