The story of the Prà winery begins with Graziano Prà, a winemaker who has dedicated his life to the art of viticulture. He grew up surrounded by the family vineyards, among the grapevines lovingly tended by his grandfather and father. But it was Graziano who gave the company its current identity. In the 1980s, when most Soave producers were still focusing on mass-produced wines, he boldly chose a different path: uncompromising quality and sustainable cultivation. He was a pioneer in his commitment to precision craftsmanship and organic farming. The result is a company that is deeply rooted in this terroir and produces wines of the highest purity and elegance.

The vineyards sprawl across the gently rolling volcanic hills of Soave and the rugged limestone slopes of Valpolicella. The varieties Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave, Corvina, Corvinone and Oseleta grow here, where the earth has been shaped by ancient geological forces and the microclimate bestows a unique freshness on the grapevines. Every vineyard tells its own story: in the Soave region, the volcanic soil gives the wines exceptional minerality and depth, while the cooler locations of Valpolicella, influenced by the fresh breezes of the Monti Lessini, give the grapes a complex, delicate structure.

He was even ahead of his time in the use of such caps: he realised that his straightforward, juicy and fresh wines best retain their character with a screw cap rather than a classic cork. What initially seemed unusual turned out, after years of analyses and tastings, to be the perfect step to ensure the longevity and purity of his wines. The screw cap protects the wine from external influences and guarantees that the unique interplay of terroir and craftsmanship is reflected in the glass, unadulterated, even after many years.
This decision expresses a deeply held conviction: A great wine is created in the vineyard and guided by the winemaker, not just simply manufactured. A winemaker is not a creator, rather a custodian of nature. He guides her in the right direction without taking away her character. This is how wines are created that reflect the essence of their origin in every nuance – wines that tell stories, that touch people and capture the moment in which they were created.
