Sauvignon blanc grapes go to produce a wonderfully refreshing white wine Sauvignon blanc grapes go to produce a wonderfully refreshing white wine

As tangy as it gets

Sauvignon blanc belongs in every summer wine! With its tangy acidity and exuberant aromatics, this grape calls out for a sunny terrace. The variety originally comes from the Loire region, but can now even be found in top wines from New Zealand.

Where it grows:

What it tastes like:

  • the flavour profile of Sauvignon blanc is characterised by green notes: tomato leaf, freshly cut grass, gooseberry, asparagus, plus citrus fruits and elderberry
  • in warm climates, the grape exudes exotic flavours, such as passion fruit
  • its tangy acidity makes it extremely refreshing

What it goes with:

  • fish and seafood
  • all types of vegetables
  • all dishes with fennel-like flavours: fennel, dill, tarragon, etc.
  • goat’s cheese
