Thirty years ago, when Giancarlo Notari took a leap of faith and became self-employed, the name Prosecco was not yet synonymous with Italian sparkling wine. However, Notari left the Tuscan wine empire of Antinori and set up the Compagnia del Vino in order to dedicate himself to the production of Prosecco, firmly convinced that its charm and freshness would bring global success.
Today, Giancarlo’s son Saverio runs the Compagnia del Vino. Like his father before him, his focus is on quality: the grapes come from the breathtakingly steep slopes of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, the cradle of Prosecco superiore. When it comes to vinification, Saverio gets expert advice from the technical team at Antinori. The wines are noted for their elegance and dainty lightness.
