Behind the Cantina Riff winery is none other than the star winemaker Alois Lageder. This South Tyrolean winemaker, who is widely recognised for his biodynamic grapes, features fruity, fresh wines with a Mediterranean touch in Cantina Riff: «Where sea creatures once inhabited coral reefs, the vines for Cantina Reef wines now thrive». Where is this? In Veneto, in the foothills of the Alps.
The grapes for his cheerful Pinot grigio and the enjoyable Merlot-Cabernet assemblage grow there. The ripe grapes are pressed on site, later matured and finely polished at the Lageder main facility in Magreid. And the master winemaker promises – just how could it be any different for the sustainability pioneer: «Soon all Cantina Reef wines will be certified organic.» We are looking forward to that!
