Update NowThe Colla family has been associated with wine for over 300 years. A document from 1703 mentions «barrels of Rosatello and Vino negro», which Carlo Colla produced and sold. In 1778 his grandson purchased a farmhouse complete with vineyards. Many years later, Beppe Colla, born in 1930, also joined the wine business. He became a pioneer and standard bearer for the Langhe: as long ago as the 1960s, he vinified grapes from different parcels separately and even wrote the word «Cru» on the label. Later his brother Tino, almost 20 years his junior, joined him and together they created a success story. Beppe Colla died in January 2019. His daughter Federica and Tino’s son Pietro are now also actively involved in the family business.
Poderi Colla’s 27 hectares of vineyards are divided between the Cascine Drago in Alba, the Tenuta Roncaglia in Barbaresco and the Azienda Agricola Dardi Le Rose in Monforte – top quality three times over!
