ABC of varieties

Do you think of cheese when you hear the word Pecorino? Well, you’re not far off. The story goes that this grape variety from Marche and Abruzzo used to grow along the path where shepherds took their sheep – «pecore» in Italian. The animals loved these sweet grapes and would unabashedly feast upon them. And rightly so! Humans should also certainly give Pecorino a try. The wines made from this variety are tight and structured, with herby notes and hints of mineral. A creature comfort indeed!
