ABC of varieties

A wonderfully uncomplicated Piedmontese! Dolcetto means «the sweet little one» in English. However, this has nothing to do with the sugar level, but the relatively low acidity, which makes the wines from this grape particularly soft and well rounded. The early-ripening Dolcetto grows wherever it gets too cool in autumn for the late-ripening flagship varieties of Piedmont, Nebbiolo and Barbera, in other words mainly at higher altitudes. It tastes best young, when it captivates with stunning charm, brilliant fruits, plenty of melting, delicate spice as well as characteristic almond notes.
