Update NowFerrari – their fine wines are among the best that Italy has to offer when it comes to Spumante. Quality is a top priority at Ferrari. Giulio Ferrari had already orientated his work on this when he fermented the first Chardonnay grapes in 1902 in the Champagne style, i.e. with a second fermentation in the bottle, to make a sparkling wine. With his ambitious project, the then 23-year-old laid the foundations for the company, which today exports its Trentodoc sparkling wines all over the world.
In the 1950s, not having any heirs of his own, Ferrari handed over the business to Bruno Lunelli, a young wine merchant from Trento. The third Lunelli generation has now taken the helm. Under their leadership, Ferrari has won award after award for its sparkling wines and was named Sparkling Wine Producer of the Year for the seventh time at the 2024 «Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships».
