The finish is long-lasting and mineral, an expression of the vineyard’s high altitude.

The Sancaba Bianco celebrates its premiere with this 2023 vintage. A single-variety Grechetto from the high-altitude vineyards of San Casciano dei Bagni in Tuscany. At 650 metres above sea level, the grapevines benefit from cool winds and strong temperature fluctuations between day and night, which lends the wine its freshness. The name Sancaba is an acronym invented by Franchetti and pays homage to the town of San Casciano dei Bagni (SAN CAsciano dei BAgni).
Recommendations
Excellent with seafood starters, delicate fish dishes and fresh salads. Its herbaceous notes harmonise perfectly with pasta with lemon or herb sauces, and its crisp structure emphasises the flavours of grilled poultry.
Vinification
The grapes were carefully picked by hand in mid-September. The ensuing fermentation lasted around two weeks in order to preserve the freshness and clarity of the wine. The wine is then aged for six months on the fine lees in a 20-hectolitre cement tank, with the lees being stirred regularly to intensify the texture and complexity. A small part of the wine is aged in French barriques to impart additional depth and delicate nuances. After the assemblage, the wine is gently clarified, filtered and bottled.
