Deep ruby red with delicate violet highlights. The bouquet is intense, with aromas of blackberries, blueberries, sour cherries and balsamic echoes. The palate is fresh, full-bodied and silky. The smooth Merlot tannins and the stronger tannins of the Pignolo are harmoniously interwoven.

Details
This Cuvée is formed from Merlot and Pignolo, a rare native grape variety from the Friuli region. The result is a fascinating interplay of lively freshness and intense, black fruit. These are joined by subtle, spicy wood nuances. The finale is balanced and long-lasting.

Wonderful with red meat, braised dishes and game.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested late to increase the colour intensity and soften the tannins, especially those of the Pignolo grapes. Careful hand-picking and selection on the vines is followed by separate vinification in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. After blending, the wine is refined for 24 months in barriques made from French oak. Before going on sale, it ages for six months in the bottle.
