Deep ruby purple with aromas of black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries. There are also light wood notes on the palate, as well as some fig. A classic example from Saint-Estèphe, of medium length and delicate tannins.

Details
The Château Montrose wine estate was founded in 1815 and has been owned by three families ever since. Jean-Louis Charmolue has been running it since 2006.
Recommendations
An uncomplicated accompaniment to meat dishes from the pan or grill, cheese and terrines.
Vinification
The grapes for Château Montrose’s second wine are fermented in stainless steel tanks and then matured in 20% new French barriques for twelve months. The assemblage consists of 52% Merlot, 39% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc.
