energetic primary fruit aromas accompanied by subtle notes of coffee, roast wood and tobacco.
The aromas are repeated on the palate, which is dense with a lot of meaty tannins of excellent quality. A wonderfully aromatic masterpiece of complexity, balance and lovely length. Already very promising, fun and enjoyable. Will certainly improve even more in the next few years…

Details
The vines for this celebrated wine are over 80 years old and produce a correspondingly low yield, but all the more impressive grape quality. A purple-red sparkling masterpiece with marvellous aromas of dark fruit, coffee and vanilla.
Recommendations
Excellent with beef, lamb and game as well as mature cheese.
Vinification
The vines for this wine grow in a tributary valley south-west of Greve in Chianti. Being over 80 years old, they produce a very low yield. Further selection of the grapes guarantees the top quality of this wine. After fermentation, the young wine is matured for twelve months in new 350-litre French oak barrels and refined for a further six months in the bottle. Around 25,000 bottles are produced each year!
