Details
In the Piedmontese dialect, «Bacialé» refers to a marriage broker. This purple-red wine is the perfect blend of the local Barbera grape with the international varieties of Pinot nero, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Wonderful notes of black cherries on the nose, silky tannins and a little dark chocolate.
Recommendations
Wonderful with pasta dishes. Also great with poultry.
Vinification
The grape varieties are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then moved to large wooden barrels for the malolactic fermentation before the individual batches are blended together. The blended wine is aged for 12 months in wood, some in large barrels, some in used barriques. After bottling, the wine continues to mature for a further four months in the bottle before the Il Bacialé goes on sale.
