Details
In 1922, Robert Meacham Davis, a pastor and ambassador of the Red Cross, bought Château Monbrison. During the Second World War, the French government supported the tearing up of vines, including at Monbrison. In 1940, as a result of the war, Robert Davis was forced to flee to his original homeland, the USA. After the war, his daughter Elizabeth returned and took over the winery together with her husband, Christian Vonderheyden. It has remained in family ownership ever since.
