Tasting notes
Dark ruby red with violet highlights. An intense, complex and pleasantly fragrant nose. Aromas of ripe cherries, dark berries, orange peel, cloves, a little gingerbread spice and brown bread as well as fine toasted notes emerge. Very complex on the palate with a juicy structure that is typical of the grape variety. With exceptionally finely honed tannins. The palate aromatics harbour warm spices, cedar and once again ripe black cherries and plums. The finish is complex, pithy and long-lasting.

Details
2020: a truly exceptional year, one of the most remarkable in the history of the Marche region. A grand Montepulciano of the terroir, with depth and temperament, whose bouquet is fruity with aromas of ripe cherries, plums and orange peel. Sweet fruit and silky tannins on the palate.
Recommendations
A real treat with red meat, wild fowl and sharp cheeses.
Vinification
The grapes for this wine come from the Campo San Giorgio vineyard in Osimo, which is barely one hectare in size. After manual harvesting, the grapes are immediately crushed. Temperature-controlled fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then aged for 12 months in new French barriques, a further six months in large, used wooden barrels then another 10 months in the bottle. This excellent wine was first made in 2009.
