Marchesi Antinori
Moderner Barriquekeller auf dem Weingut Marchesi Antinori

Italy, California, Chile? The Marchesi Antinori have proven that they have the golden touch for terroir all around the world.

27 generations full of passion for wine and the soil in which it grows. Italian viticulture without the Antinori family? Unthinkable! The company is still family-run, despite its imposing size: In addition to the 1700 hectares of vines in Italy alone, 1500 of which are in Tuscany, there are also vineyards in California and Chile. In order to guarantee the consistently high quality, grapes from their own cultivation are used almost exclusively. CEO and head oenologist Renzo Cotarella, himself a legend, has been watching over all the vineyards and wines since 1979.

The assortment is stylistically modern and the wines are precisely structured, with radiant fruit and polished tannins. It is also impressive how convincing all the wines are: from the drinkable entry-level wine to icons that have written wine history, like the Tignanello. The Gambero Rosso is full of praise for the Florentine wine dynasty: «There’s no denying that without the Antinori family, Italian wine would not have achieved its current levels of prestige.»
