Reife Montepulciano Weintrauben

The original from the Adriatic

Where it grows:

  • almost exclusively in Marche and Abruzzo

  • although the grape is also slowly spreading to southern Italy

What it tastes like:

  • robust

  • notes of dark cherry, plum and spices

  • firm tannin

What it goes with:

  • it has to be hearty! Montepulciano harmonises perfectly with sausages, bean dishes and stews
