1965 servierten wir in der Santa Lucia am Zürcher Limmatplatz erstmals eine Pizza aus dem Holzofen. In unveränderter Qualität und Knusprigkeit gibt’s diese Italien-Spezialität auch am weltberühmten Bankenstandort, dem Paradeplatz an der Zürcher Bahnhofstrasse.

I am Sicilian, but I was born in Brussels. I love foreign languages, which is why I actually wanted to become a teacher. In the end I decided to study hotel management. In the multicultural field of gastronomy, I am able to put my knowledge to use on a daily basis – I speak five languages fluently. I am glad that I opted to become a host rather than a teacher.

With 12 years of experience as chef de cuisine at Bindella, I am proud to say that I now belong to the Club dei Dieci! However, I just recently received my Swiss vocational diploma after passing the test with flying colours. My flair for Mediterranean dishes comes from the fact that I grew up in Ticino. But my parents, my blood and my name are from Pakistan. In my managerial position, it was important to me from the very start to motivate my team. After all, we are working together to achieve the same goal, day in and day out.
