Lodovico Antinori has shaped the Italian wine world like few others. His flair for terroir, precision and excellence has produced some of Italy’s most important wines. Now he is returning to his roots with his daughter Sophia Antinori. Tenuta del Nicchio is a tribute to the Bordeaux grape variety Cabernet Franc – a wine grown in high-altitude vineyards around Bibbona and Bolgheri.
These unique plots, long unused, have been revived by father and daughter with great dedication. The soils, untouched for over 30 years, have been regenerated and now offer ideal conditions for powerful, elegant wines. Over the coming years, production is set to grow from the current 2,000 bottles to up to 30,000. By then, the company will also have its own winery.
Alongside the great «Lodovico», «Il Nicchio» is the Tenuta’s flagship wine. This wine focuses on the finest structures, precision and depth – a modern interpretation of the great wines from Bolgheri. The project is supported by one of Bordeaux’s greatest icons: Michel Rolland, who has been by Lodovico’s side for decades.
