Clear, shiny ruby red colour. Ripe red berries and plums on the nose, but also floral notes and some violets. Complemented by understated roasted aromas and warm spices. The prelude on the palate is full of ripe, red fruit. The juicy, spicy components gradually become apparent. Beautifully balanced, elegant and invigorating consistency, lingering finish.
This Rosso di Montalcino exudes a ripe berry bouquet and shows soft, silky tannins on the palate.

Vinification
The Rosso di Montalcino from the Pian delle Vigne winery was produced for the first time in 2012. The harvest takes place – strictly selectively – during the last days of September. After maceration and gentle pressing, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature for around eight to ten days. After fermentation, the young wine matures for twelve months in large wooden barrels.
