Details
The Sangiovese vines used for this wine are over 50 years old. It is allowed to mature for twelve months in 350 l tonneaux and ten months in the bottle, producing a wine that is complex, round and juicy.
Recommendations
Perfect for barbecued foods and also game dishes in the autumn.
Vinification
This wine is made from the oldest Sangiovese vineyards on the estate. At over 40 years, the vines are well past the first flush of youth, and their yield is correspondingly low. After hand-picking and pressing, the grapes are macerated in stainless steel tanks without the addition of artificial yeast. New, 350 l French tonneaux are used for the ageing process, with the young wine maturing there for twelve months. This is followed by around ten months of bottle ageing.
