There are very few truly great wines in the world that are 100% Merlot. The Masseto is one of them. 24 months in barrique and a further twelve months bottle-ageing. Concentrated bouquet, rich feeling in the mouth - a top-class mature wine.

Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand in 15 kg crates and carefully sorted, again by hand, both before and after destemming. They are then gently pressed. Six different parcels are vinified separately. Fermentation happens in stainless steel and wooden tanks followed by 15-20 days of maceration at a temperature of between 25 and 30°C. The malolactic fermentation is done in 100% new oak barrels. The different batches are matured separately during the first 12 months. After that, the wine is blended and returned to the barrels for one more year, making a total time of 24 months. The wine is only released for sale after twelve months in the bottle.
