Tasting notes
Medium yellow with golden highlights. Multifaceted and complex on the nose, with notes of ripe pears, exotic fruits and roasted aromas, underpinned by fine mineral nuances. Dry on the palate, with medium, perfectly integrated acids. Aromas of exotic fruit and ripe pears. The use of wood is highly specific to promote the complexity. The wine appears very elegant and not too opulent. Long, harmonious finish.

Vinification
For his flagship Löwengang wine, Alois Lageder uses only the best Chardonnay grapes from selected sites in Margreid and Salurn (260 to 450 m above sea level). Age of vines: 25 to 55 years old. The grapes are gently pressed and the must is then fermented in barriques (Nevers, Alliers, Vosges and Tronçais, half of them new) before being aged for eleven months on the lees.
