Dense, dark ruby. Complex nose with notes of ripe fruit, a little leather, tobacco and warm spices. Full-bodied on the palate with a lot of mellowness, structured and balanced. The aromas of the nose are reflected in the flavours. The finish is long and characterised by the structure and ripe flavours of the wine. A true Puglia classic, first vinified in 1971.

Vinification
The grapes originate from an old vineyard planted at around 200 m above sea level. The harvest takes place between mid-October and early November, with the grapes having been already strictly selected for quality in the vineyard. The maceration takes place for 12 to 14 days in stainless steel tanks. The young wine is then matured for 14 months in French barriques (50%) and 30 hl barrels (50%) that are also made of French oak. Before Il Falcone hits the shelves, it is kept in bottles for another year.
