Dense ruby with purple reflections. Fruity and spicy on the nose. It demonstrates aromas of ripe, black berries, dark preserves, dried fruit and raisins, but also warm, spicy components. A balanced texture on the palate. Elegantly juicy, accompanied by an invigorating acidity. The tannins are present but finely woven. Full-bodied with a multi-layered flavour profile and a pleasant structure. The finish is of good length with aromatic persistence.

The perennial favourite from Masi: the young wine is mixed with the mash of dried grapes to trigger a secondary fermentation. This gives the wine richer colouring, more noticeable tannins and, above all, a more intense aroma.
Recommendations
A versatile food companion. Harmonises particularly well with pizza, pasta, risotto and gnocchi.
Vinification
Where formerly Amarone marc still warm from fermentation was added to the young Valpolicella, today Masi blends the young wine with whole, dried grapes to trigger the desired secondary fermentation. This gives the wine more substance, colour and structure as well as more intense and complex aromas. The wine is matured for 18 months in large wooden barrels.
