Tasting notes
Rich cherry red. Concentrated and sweetly fruity on the nose. Dried fruits, damson compote, cloves, dark chocolate, sour cherries. Compact yet smooth on the palate. Supple, ripe tannins and a well-integrated acidity give the wine structure and character. Again plenty of ripe, dark fruit and spices, discreet woody aromas. A wine with the juiciness and elegance of a Valpolicella and the power and body of an Amarone.

Details
The grapes for this seductive wine with its aromas of cherries and dried fruits come from the «Brolo» parcel. The Appassimento process and secondary fermentation lend it additional substance, body and structure and make it a complex charmer.
Recommendations
Goes well with casseroles, polenta with cheese or spicy pasta.
Vinification
Where formerly Amarone marc still warm from fermentation was added to the young Valpolicella, today Masi blends the young wine with whole, dried grapes to trigger the desired secondary fermentation. This process lends the wine even greater substance, body and structure, combined with more intense aromas and a more complex flavour. The wine is matured for 24 to 36 months in 600 l oak barrels (Allier, Slovenia) and for six months in the bottle.
