Deep, strong ruby with violet reflections. Deep and complex on the nose with notes of noble woods, spices and liquorice. Fruity notes of ripe plums plus a little vanilla. Wonderfully dense and rich on the palate. Pithy tannins of a high quality. Juicy, well-integrated acidity with aromas of plums and cherries. These are joined by roasted aromas. Compact, long-lasting finish, which suggests it will keep well.

Details
This elegant Barbera d’Asti comes from one of the best Cru locations of Rocchetta Tanaro and matures for 15 months in French barriques. Intensive and succinct on the nose: plums, violets and liquorice. A silky and intense body with dense, velvety tannins and an almost endless finish.
Recommendations
Goes with hearty dishes such as brasato with polenta.
Vinification
The Barbera vines of the Bigotta vineyard are slightly younger than those of Uccellone. After harvest and the ensuing maceration, the young wine is matured for around 18 months in French barriques before being aged for a further twelve months in the bottle.
